The Disguised Bucs Offense

June 17th, 2025

Cade Otton is in the head of one of his teammates, maybe even in his craw.

After about 10 practices, newcomer veteran linebacker Anthony Walker, Jr. has seen enough of Otton for a while.

“Cade, I’m kind of sick of him right now. Yeah, that’s a real savvy route runner right there,” Walker said. “He got me a few times this offseason, so I definitely got to get in my bag a little bit. That tight end room is special, as well. Our whole offense, man, they put you in a lot of compromising positions where you gotta play the run, play the pass, and they make it all look the same. And when you can do that, that’s an elite offense.”

Nice words about Otton there, but Joe really loved hearing a veteran like Walker talk about how well disguised the Bucs offense appears.

Man, if the Bucs can maintain their scoring average of 29.5 points per game, then a special season could be in store. And no, Joe doesn’t consider “special” to be winning only another NFC South crown.

    Im talking 15 win special.

Yes Otten really came into his own last year when needed. I think Culp maybe turn out to be someone special as well as we go. The TE room is looking a lot better

Yeah, another South, crown win is nothing, special… Setting records in your division is not “special” enough for you. I bet if we miss winning the South, and miss the playoffs due to that non-NFC South crown.

We would read here non-stop how bad that is, how soon we need to “swing the sword”, all while whailing for foolish bone headed mistakes in not doing just that.

Winning a record setting 5 NFC South Division Championship Baker/Brady banners…

We win oir Division we get an opportunity to be in the dance… We lose our division we have only what chance then? Wild-card team… Yes we won it all as just that… But do you really want to have to do that again and play at everyone else’s fields, or have a home field game or two?

    GO!!!!!BUCS!!!!!

Cade Otton is an above average TE, but he is limited due to size and speed. Culp has a high ceiling due to his elite speed and could turn out to be something special.

I agree Joe, this fan base is tired of “just winning” the south. They EXPECT MORE! Especially since the defense looks to be greatly improved from picks in the draft and additions from free agency! Now you f they can just put it all together starting in game one!!!!

Correction: Now if they can put it all together…

The scoring will come. I’m more worried about the third down defense. The secondary that gave up more big plays than it made. No good edge rush made matters worse. Hopefully we solved some of our defensive woes this offseason, camp looked promising. This defense needs to prove more than the offense IMO.

That was actually a very nice read.

Reasons Winning the NFCS Crown is VERY SPECIAL!!!!

    1) Longest NFCS in history. We’re currently tied with NOLA at 4. We all love talking smack with NOLA fans and we want to own those bragging rights.

    2) 4th Longest Conference in NFL History. Bucs fan have to hear about historically sucking way too much for team with 2 Super Bowls. The more we win the more we can say STFU.

    3) Automatic Playoff Bid. The Bucs have the longest running playoff appearance streak in the NFC. Winning the conference extends that streak.

Otton stepped up when needed last year. The problem is the receivers are loaded and the running back is special. I can’t see Otton getting more than 40 catches, but hopefully about 30 of them are for first downs.

The best thing was him saying how so many runs and passes look the same. ELITE OFFENSE
